Strawberry-Banana Smoothie Bowl

Smoothies are a great way to get extra protein and vitamins. I like to make them thicker with extra ice so that it's more like a dessert.


INGREDIENTS

  • Half of frozen banana

  • 1 cup of strawberries (fresh or frozen)

  • 1 scoop of your favorite protein powder (I use vanilla Tone it Up (plant based protein)

  • ice (you determine how much, either a little for a shake you can drink, or more ice for a thick protein bowl)

  • 1/2 cup of water

  • 1/2 cup of almond milk

  • Optional toppings: cacao nibs, unsweetened coconut flakes, walnuts, chia seeds

DIRECTIONS

  1. Place banana and strawberries in blender

  2. Add protein powder, ice and liquids

  3. Mix

  4. Determine if you need more ice or not

  5. Put in bowl and add optional toppings such as: cacao nibs, unsweetened coconut flakes, walnuts, chia seeds


Chia seeds are a good source of omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, antioxidants, iron, and calcium.
